Bi-Annual Tournaments

Beginning in March 2023, the Queer Fight Night coordinators have hosted jiu-jitsu tournaments for queer and trans competitors. These events have grown in size and expanded to include striking arts (Muay Thai, K1, kickboxing, and boxing) and a day of workshops for competitors, volunteers, and support teams.

These tournaments go beyond providing training for marginalized people by giving them goals to reach for and measurable outcomes for their work on the mats. Trans people specifically are systematically excluded from competitive sports environments. These tournaments, and the many others like it that are popping up all over the USA and Europe, give everyone access to compete as themselves and on their terms.
